Appointments, Forms, and General Considerations
What time should I arrive for a spa appointment?
For your
comfort, we request that you arrive at least 20 minutes prior to your treatment
time in order to register and change. We advise showering before all body
treatments.
If this is your first visit with us, you will be
asked to record your details on your personal profile. Your stylist/therapist
will complete the consultation process and will ensure that your treatments
are custom tailored to your needs.
Arriving late will reduce the time available for
your treatment, diminishing its effectiveness and your pleasure. We kindly
ask if you could please arrive promptly for registration as it may not
be possible to accommodate latecomers.
What is your cancellation policy?
Credit card details
are required at the time of booking to guarantee your appointment. As a
courtesy to our therapists and other clients, please give a minimum of
24 hours’ notice to cancel or change a session, or you will be charged
for the time reserved.
What will happen when I arrive at the spa?
Upon
arrival at the Spa, you will be greeted by our Spa receptionist, who will
explain the day’s schedule to you as well as the facilities that you can
enjoy during your visit.

Waxing
How often should I wax?
New growth begins in about two
weeks after waxing. Hair growth should be one-half or one-third of its
full volume before you wax again. Occasionally this occurs after the third
week, but we typically recommend you wax at about the fourth week. The
benefit of regular waxing is that the follicle will eventually give up
growing a replacement hair. Some people who have waxed for years experience
only 20% of their former hair growth.
What should I know about face waxing?
Face waxing
is particularly vulnerable to skin peeling. A rash may develop and may
last up to a week. We highly recommend keeping the area moist with an antibiotic
ointment for at least three days after waxing. We do not recommend waxing
for those who use Retin-A, Accutane, and/or high concentrations of glycolic
acid or similar products. These products make the skin very thin and sensitive.
It is essential to inform your service provider if you are using any acne
or exfoliation preparation on your face. While we use the safest and latest
techniques, Gente Bella Salon Spa is not responsible for any skin that
may come off during waxing.
What about tanning and waxing?
Since the waxing
process is a very effective skin exfoliant, it is likely your tan will
lighten in the waxed area as the result of the waxing process. It is not
advisable to wax right before or just after going to the beach or the pool,
or using a tanning bed or spray tanning service. The sun can discolor the
waxed skin of those who take hormone supplements. If you suntan and/or
take birth control pills, your skin may peel from waxing. The exposed skin
will take some time to heal.
Does every hair come out? What about hair breakage?
Not every hair comes out by the root when waxing. Most people experience
hair breakage after waxing. A variety of factors cause hair breakage. These
may include having thick or coarse hair or tight follicles, which are more
resistant to coming out of the root, causing more breakage. As waxing is
continued on a consistent basis, the follicles usually begin to loosen
and less hair will break. It only takes one waxing for hair to grow thinner,
especially longer hair grown at least 3 weeks since the last shaving or
waxing.
What if my skin is very moist when waxing occurs?
If skin is overly moist due to a recent shower or perspiration, it is more
likely that the top layer may peel.
EMS (Electromagnetic Stimulation)
Are the facial treatments comfortable?
The EMS unit’s
signal is known for its comfort. The facial muscles only need a gentle
tightening and lifting movement to tone the muscles. Keeping the stimulation
gentle like this, you will actually enjoy a comfortable, pleasant, and
rejuvenating sensation.
Will I still get results if I already have
deep lines and saggy areas on my face?
You’ll be surprised how quickly and effectively
the facial program works, even if the muscles are saggy and the face is
lined. Perseverance with the EMS facial treatment will further improve
the results.
Does it really work?
The inventors pioneered the
EMS technique over 25 years ago. Since then, more than 8 million users
all over the world have confirmed its body shaping effects.
What does it feel like?
People find the soothing,
massage-like sensation to be completely agreeable. Initially, they may
find it difficult to believe that something so pleasant can be so effective.
How often do I have to use it?
Short daily sessions
are recommended until maximum improvement is gained, then once or twice
a week should keep your new figure in shape.
How long do the effects last?
Just as with shape
and fitness gained through normal exercise, regular workouts must be maintained
to prevent loss of muscle tone.
Is it safe?
The EMS technique has been tried and
tested and found to be a safe and healthy way to exercise muscles. Of course,
just as in normal exercise, there are cases when EMS is not recommended.
Please consult with your therapist and your medical practitioner.
I’ve just had a baby. Can EMS get my stomach
back into shape?
There is no faster or easier method of correcting the stretched
tummy muscles after childbirth.
Will it make me lose weight?
The best way to lose
weight is to combine EMS exercise with a good diet plan, thus avoiding
the sagging and flabbiness that result from dieting alone.
Can EMS help men improve their physique?
The EMS
technique can be used by men to pull in their stomachs and dramatically
improve their physique. EMS exercise sessions are an excellent injury-free
alternative and supplement to traditional exercise and sport.
